As the chill of the last three months begins to thaw, it is a great time to take the tentative steps out of the cave where you have been hibernating, blink into the sunshine (if you’re lucky enough to have sunshine) and think “Okay…now what?”
You may not have been sleeping in a cave for the last three months with a full belly, in fact the first three months of the year are usually a flurry of preparation, but sometimes it is easy to hibernate in your work and spring is the perfect time to step outside the cave and have a re-evaluation.
If you’re in tune with your business goals then you probably check in with yourself on a regular basis to ask the following questions:
- Does this contribute to my business goals?
- Am I on the right track?
- What has been the most effective action for achieving my goals in the past day / week / month?
If you haven’t asked yourselves these questions for a while, have a look at them now. If you set out a plan at the beginning of the yea are you still on track with what you wanted to achieve. If not is it because those goals have changed? Or have you become side tracked with other projects?
Take some time this week if you can before the 4 day break (if you’re having one) to revisit those plans, and ask yourself if your goals are still the same, and what measures are in place to achieve them. After the Easter break you can come back refreshed and hopefully with a firmer sense of direction
It doesn’t matter if you have strayed from your path a little, detours in life can be fruitful and there is beauty in not knowing exactly what’s round the next corner. However, by taking the time to regroup and refocus your thoughts, even if you stray on to a different path and plan it should still lead to your dreams.
