Celebrate BEFORE you get hit by a bus

October 17, 2009 by Amy Harrison Leave a Comment

Look both ways before crossing...Life is busy, particularly if you’re self employed or launching a new business. Down time can feel like wasted time and shutting off can seem impossible when there are proposals to prepare, research to do, statistics to analysis and numbers to crunch.

This is a simple post to urge you to remember to take some time out, turn off your computer screen and congratulate yourself. It can be all too easy to put off the celebrations until that “big moment”.

For example, you might be excited about winning a new contract, and promise yourself if you get it, you’ll celebrate.

You get it…but then you think you’ll celebrate when you deliver the work and the client is happy.

You deliver the work, the client is happy but you decide to celebrate when you get paid.

And then you get hit by a bus.

Okay, that’s an extreme example, but it could happen.

If you feel good or proud about something you’ve done take the time out to celebrate it…

And then get back to doing whatever it is that makes you so flipping awesome.
